WHERE I COME FROM

I'm a sixth generation Noblesville native and was born at Riverview Hospital. I grew up in old town Noblesville and live there now. I went to First Ward school, then to North Elementary.

I graduated from Noblesville High School where I served as student body president. I met my wife Tammy at Purdue. We have three beautiful daughters and an amazing son-in-law that are also Noblesville High School and college graduates. They all live in Noblesville and we are a very close family. We have three grandchildren in Noblesville Schools. Tammy served previously as a math teacher at Noblesville High School, but for the last 15 years she has been the front office and athletic secretary at Noblesville East Middle School.

CAREER

My first businesses were startups in the electronics service industry. We based our business in Noblesville before selling it in 2015. Deciding not to fully retire, Tammy and I purchased two historic buildings on our beautiful historic Noblesville square. I have employed many people over the years and I understand the reality of making payrolls, investing in and empowering employees, vendors, and understanding customer service.

VOLUNTEERING

Volunteering has always been important in my life. I've served on numerous boards including Noblesville Chamber of Commerce, Noblesville Preservation Alliance, Noblesville Swim Club, and the Noblesville Noon Kiwanis Club. I am incoming board president of the Noblesville Schools Education Foundation (NSEF). NSEF supplies scholarships, grants, and financial support and resources to our students and teachers at all schools. I serve as a Noblesville Schools Compass Mentor at North Elementary and I am Miller Ambassador. I also serve on the Noblesville Main Street Board of Directors. You can see me at all of our downtown events. For ten years I served as a road officer and Reserve Division Captain at the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department under Sheriff Dan Stevens. I was an assistant coach and volunteer for the Noblesville High School Swimming and Diving Team and Noblesville Swim Club for 19 years. I have worked with many hundreds of Noblesville students over the years.

MISSION STATEMENT

High Standards Create Opportunities

As a Noblesville School Board member, I promise to uplift and support students and their families by continuing the excellence and culture fostered in Noblesville Schools. I will help ensure Noblesville Schools continue on our nationally ranked trajectory. I believe that parent and school collaboration, trust, and mutual respect is key to continued educational success.

I am a strong advocate for students and teachers at Noblesville Schools. I support the high standards we have set in education. We must continue to take care of our teachers financially so we can attract and retain the best educators. I have visited all ten of our schools and talked with administrators, teachers, and students. We need to continue advancing educational opportunities for all technical trades and partnerships with employers.

I also believe the families of Noblesville Schools insist on education over politics. I will take this approach to board service. I’ve seen first-hand what our school system can achieve when learning is our north star.
